Silica & Aging
Did you know that silica exists naturally?
We are all born with high silica level in our body. But as time passes, its concentration decreases as we age(1). It is essential for us to replenish it from time to time, especially when it is concerning our skin benefits.
Silica Decreases As We Age
Silica – An essential component for collagen production
The lack of silica slows down the natural production of collagen in our body as we age. This leads to a reduction of about 1% in the amount of collagen in our skin after 21 years of age. This would also result in thickness reduction and elasticity loss, which is directly related to the wrinkles depth(2)(3).
